Attaching renditions

Attaching a rendition imports a file into the vault and stores it alongside a selected document’s native content. The new file will then be shown as the document’s rendition.

Before you begin

The document to which you want to attach a rendition must be under change by you.

Warning    The attached file might be overwritten if a new rendition is generated automatically by the system as the result of a workflow transition or manually as described in Updating renditions.

To attach a file as a rendition:

1. Browse to the destination document in any view.
2. Drag a file from outside the vault and drop it onto the destination document’s name in the view. The shortcut menu appears.
3. Select Attach as Rendition. The file is attached to the document and the document icon is overlaid with a red sash similar to.
